Comic artist, character designer & author Erica Ostrowski

My passion for comics and animation started when I was a kid. I come from an art family starting with my great Aunt who was a painter. My Mom, a graphic designer and fiber artist, taught me how to draw and paint growing up. 90’s cartoons and manga were a big influence throughout my teens.

I taught gouche workshops and currently teach Comic courses at Baltimore Academy of Illustration for the past few years. Since 2014 I’ve done freelance illustration for small business clients, creating custom made pieces and logos for merchandise. In 2017 I began working as a colorist on comic pitches. I wrote and illustrated a middle grade comic “Beansprout” which is currently being pitched for publishing in 2023

I currently work on several webcomics, “Beansprout: Little roots” on webtoons and “Pearl & Tuna” on Instagram and Tiktok. When I’m not creating webcomics and needle felting, I spend my free time mushroom hunting and hiking with my dogs in the deep woods of Maryland!
